LAURA McKENDRY
ART EXPERIENCE
Laura McKendry is an artist of extraordinary sensitivity, someone who does not simply observe the world, but listens to it. Her work arises from intuition, from sensation, and from a deep attunement to the subtle forces that move beneath the visible. In her presence, creativity becomes less about technique and more about connection: to nature, to emotion, and to the quiet truths that shape human experience.
Laura McKendry is an artist who paints from sensation rather than surface, allowing the world to move through her before it becomes mark, shape, or colour. Her work begins in the delicate spaces most people overlook: the fleeting impression left by a gesture, the quiet pulse of a landscape, the subtle shift of light across a wall, or the invisible rhythm shared between humans and nature. She transforms these almost unspoken moments into vivid, instinctive marks that feel alive on the page. In Laura’s hands, the ephemeral becomes tangible; the ordinary becomes luminous.
Yet Laura’s gift reaches deeper than observation. She possesses a rare sensitivity to the subtle divinities woven into her surroundings, the hidden currents of feeling, energy, and presence beneath what the eye typically registers. Her paintings become vessels for these qualities, crystallizing movement, silence, and emotion into strokes that feel both intimate and universal. Her work is not simply seen but felt, as though it carries echoes of a deeper truth.
Her artistry is also an act of service. Laura believes art has the power to restore, recalibrate, and gently awaken. Her practice extends into community engagement, creative education, and compassionate mentorship, offering people tools to reconnect with their own vitality and clarity. Through her presence, others remember how to breathe more fully, perceive more honestly, and rediscover the quiet inner spaces where wellbeing begins.
Guided by profound intuitive listening, her creative process trusts what stirs beneath appearances. This approach shapes her workshop in Cádiz, A Sense of Things, where she invites participants into a slower, deeper mode of seeing. Here, creation becomes attunement: sensing before defining, feeling before interpreting. Together with Casa Palacio Las Marías a luminous 18th-century palace and Vanilla Houwer, in Cádiz. A city where light, texture, and ancient rhythms converge, this way of working becomes even more resonant.
Through her art and teaching, Laura offers more than technique. She opens a path back to oneself, back to creativity as healing, and to the sacred beauty quietly waiting beneath the surface.
Workshops
“A SENSE OF THINGS”, Art Workshop in Spain
The workshop centers on pattern, colour, and collections, offering shared structure while allowing each participant to explore their own artistic path. Inspiration emerges from Cádiz’s puppet theatre characters, the glow of Andalusian oranges, and the textures and objects within Casa Palacio Las Marías. Sketching excursions deepen the dialogue with the city’s ancient rhythms and luminous atmosphere.
Participants leave with a collection of illustrations, prints, and paintings shaped by Cádiz’s light and spirit, along with practices to support ongoing creative wellbeing. The workshop welcomes adults of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned artists and returning participants.
